Des Moines Dance knows of these regularly scheduled dances

Lake Robbins on Sunday nights from 5-8:30pm winter hours 6-10pm summer hours and cost is usually $8-10 per person.   Live band with heavy emphasis on Foxtrot and Swing dancing.  Food is available for purchase.  See the map on the map section to get directions to Lake Robbins.

Club 76 – Corner of Payton and Center St.– Southside Senior Center

• Generally 2nd Friday of the month – 7 to 10 pm
• $60 per person for 11 months – does not include special December dance OR $10 per person per dance.
• Casual with no blue jeans or shorts – dance is DJed

Red Friars Dance Club – Moose Lodge, 644 West 190th St, Ames, IA – good large floor

• Generally 1st Friday of the month – 7:30-10:30pm
• $150 per couple for 6 events – Oct-Dec and Mar-May
• Dressy but not necessarily tuxedo formal – various live bands

Croation Slavic Center – 6575 Indianola Ave, Des Moines, Iowa

• Saturday dances - leans toward country music
• Dancing from 7-11pm
• $5.00 Members $7.00 non-members

Ottumwa Eagles - 109 S Green St. Ottumwa, Iowa 52501

• Saturday dances - generally country music
• Dancing from 8pm to midnight
• $8 per person for members and $10 per person for non-members

Let us know if you would like to perform a dance to publicize ballroom dance at a showcase, mall, or wherever.  If this is something you would like do, let Jim or Suzi know.  A showcase dance is a dance with you and your partner on the floor dancing a dance of your choice to your music all by yourself.  It is a time to dance and let people see you dancing.  You do not need to be an expert dancer and in fact this is a good place for beginning dancers to show their dancing off.
