Learn the right step and how to lead and follow as you dance. First place in the Gold division at the USA Dance 2004 National Championships, finalist at the
championsip level at the USA Dance 2007 National Championships, and first place in Heart of America 2008 at the Championship level. Our primary interest is to
teach couples who are seriously interested in improving their dance (socially or competitively) and are willing to practice the dances they are learning. We also
teach at the West Des Moines Community Center on Sundays from 12:30 to 2:00 pm. The link to this class is:

Larry and Rae~
instructors with Step Into Swing They have danced at the
Des Moines Playhouse in the production of Swing! They have been swing dancing since 2003 and started teaching swing dance in 2005. They specialize in Vintage
Swing, Lindy Hop, Balboa and Vernacular Jazz. They teach in a fun, energetic fashion and want to make sure you enjoy your lesson while learning how to
dance. Private lessons are available to those who want to be on a faster track to dancing proficiency. They are the owners of Step Into Swing, an
organization with goals to promote swing dancing.
Luisito~
has been dancing for 15 years and was a professional dance
instructor for the Fred Astaire Dance Studios in New York City for many years. Luisito is an co-owner of Salsa Des Moines, a non-profit organization to promote
Salsa dancing. He recently moved to Des Moines after living and working (and dancing) in Geneva, Switzerland. He specializes in teaching beginner, intermediate,
and advanced salsa. He provides instructions in what is referred to as “in-line style” salsa which can be either danced ON 1 (also known as L.A. Style)
or ON 2 (also known as N.Y. Style). He can also provide instruction in social ballroom dance (American and International Styles – Bronze and Silver
levels). He will teach couples, groups, and individual ladies. He will instruct up to a serious social dance level but does not do competition level
instruction.
Roger C~
is a certified aerobic instructor and has been teaching
classes since 1986. He currently teaches a low impact exercise class at the Des Moines Riverfront YMCA. He also teaches a variety of dance classes including;
Introduction to ballroom dancing, East Coast Swing, Merengue, and Country. Low impact exercise compliments dancing nicely. It provides stamina,
flexibility and core muscle strength that will help folks be better dancers.
